Crockett is in John Swett Unified School District. Two of its schools are in Crockett itself, Carquinez Middle and John Swett High, side by side on Pomona Street, while the district’s elementary school, Rodeo Hills, is in Rodeo, the next town west.
That is the general picture. For a specific house, only the district can confirm the assignment, so call it before you write an offer.
Which district is Crockett in?
John Swett Unified School District, a small district with 1,198 students on its 2025 California School Dashboard profile. The district office is at 400 Parker Avenue in Rodeo, (510) 245-4300 (California School Dashboard, 2025; John Swett Unified website; both checked September 25, 2026).
Crockett has no city government, so there is no city school page to lean on. The district itself is your source for boundaries.
Which schools are in Crockett, and which are not?
Here are the district’s schools, from its website and the 2025 Dashboard (checked September 25, 2026):
| School | Grades | Where | 2025 enrollment |
|---|---|---|---|
| Carquinez Middle | 6 to 8 | 1099 Pomona Street, Crockett | 286 |
| John Swett High | 9 to 12 | 1098 Pomona Street, Crockett | 351 |
| Rodeo Hills Elementary | TK to 5 per the district’s 2026 to 2027 enrollment notice | Rodeo | see the Dashboard |
| Willow High | Continuation high school | See the district website | see the Dashboard |
So the district’s elementary grades are in Rodeo, and grades 6 to 12 are on Pomona Street. If you are house hunting, drive the route to Rodeo Hills at school start time once. It tells you more than a map.
How do I confirm the school for a Crockett address?
Ask the district, in writing if you can. Here is how I’d do it:
- Call John Swett Unified at (510) 245-4300 with the full street address and ask which schools it is assigned to today.
- Ask whether any boundary or school changes are planned for next year.
- Check the district’s enrollment and transfer pages at jsusd.org for the current forms.
Do not rely on a listing, a map app or a search site for the boundary. Assignments can change, so verify with the district for every address, every time.
What do the state’s 2025 numbers show?
These come from the California School Dashboard, run by the California Department of Education, for the 2024 to 2025 school year. Test results are shown as “distance from standard,” meaning how far the average score sits above or below the state’s “Standard Met” line. The color in parentheses is the Dashboard’s own performance level.
Carquinez Middle (California School Dashboard, 2025, checked September 25, 2026)

– Graduation rate: 91.6% (Green)
– College and career: 45.7% “Prepared” (Green)
Rodeo Hills Elementary has its own Dashboard report. Look it up at caschooldashboard.org by school name.
How should I read those numbers?
As one input, not a grade for a school. Small schools can swing a lot from year to year, because a few dozen students move the average. Look at the direction over several years, not one line. Then visit, ask the school what it offers in the grades you care about, and read the district’s own reports.
We don’t rank or rate schools. The Dashboard numbers are the state’s, quoted as published.
