Most Pittsburg homes are assigned to Pittsburg Unified School District, but not all of them. The City of Pittsburg says three districts serve the city: Pittsburg Unified, Mt. Diablo Unified and Antioch Unified (City of Pittsburg, Schools and Educational Opportunities page, checked September 24, 2026).

So a Pittsburg mailing address doesn’t settle it. Look up the exact address in the right district’s tool, then confirm it with that district before you write an offer.

Which school district is my Pittsburg home in?

It depends on the street. Here’s what each district publishes:

  • Pittsburg Unified (PUSD) covers most of the city. Its office is at 2000 Railroad Avenue, and the 2025 Dashboard lists enrollment of 10,666 (California School Dashboard, district profile, checked September 25, 2026).
  • Mt. Diablo Unified (MDUSD) says it serves “portions of” Pittsburg along with Concord, Clayton, Bay Point and other areas (MDUSD, Schools page, checked September 24, 2026). Its Delta View Elementary has a Pittsburg address, on Rio Verde.
  • Antioch Unified (AUSD) is listed by the city as the third district serving Pittsburg. We could not find a published list of which Pittsburg streets fall inside it, so we won’t guess. If PUSD’s locator doesn’t return a school for your address, try AUSD’s.

How do I look up the school for one address?

Use the district tool first, then call.

  1. Pittsburg Unified: the “Find My School” link on pittsburgusd.net opens the district’s address locator at locator.pea.powerschool.com/?StudyID=85038 (checked September 24, 2026).
  2. Mt. Diablo Unified: the School Site Locator at schoolsitelocator.com/apps/mtdiablo. For questions or missing streets, MDUSD lists its Assessment, Research and Evaluation department at (925) 682-8000 ext. 4135 (MDUSD, Find Your School page, checked September 24, 2026).
  3. Antioch Unified: the School Locator linked from antiochschools.net (checked September 24, 2026).

One more thing on PUSD. Its registration page says that, depending on space, a student “may be overflowed to another school site” (PUSD, Student Registration page, checked September 24, 2026). Your assigned school and the seat you get can differ. Ask the district how that works for the grade you need.

How do Pittsburg Unified’s elementary schools compare?

Here are PUSD’s eight elementary schools, their enrollment and test results on the 2025 Dashboard. English and math are shown in points above (+) or below (-) the state standard, with the Dashboard color in parentheses (California School Dashboard, 2025, checked September 24, 2026):

School Street Students English Math
Foothill Jensen Drive 551 -25.4 (Yellow) -44.4 (Orange)
Heights Alturas Avenue 547 -37.5 (Orange) -48.9 (Orange)
Highlands Harbor Street 480 -61.9 (Yellow) -71.2 (Yellow)
Los Medanos Crowley Avenue 665 -26.2 (Yellow) -57.3 (Orange)
Marina Vista East Eighth Street 612 -40.3 (Yellow) -67.7 (Orange)
Parkside West 17th Street 565 -49.8 (Yellow) -75.2 (Yellow)
Stoneman Loveridge Road 602 -65.1 (Orange) -89.7 (Orange)
Willow Cove Hanlon Way 592 -73.9 (Orange) -88.4 (Yellow)

A school’s street is not its boundary. A home a few blocks from Heights can still be assigned to a different campus, so the locator comes first.

What about the junior highs and the high school?

PUSD runs three junior highs for grades 6 to 8 and one comprehensive high school. 2025 results (California School Dashboard, checked September 24, 2026):

School Street Students English Math Graduation rate College or career prepared
Hillview Junior High Yosemite Drive 893 -53.6 (Yellow) -114.3 (Orange) n/a n/a
Martin Luther King Jr. Junior High Carion Court 706 -42.1 (Yellow) -117.9 (Red) n/a n/a
Rancho Medanos Junior High Range Road 812 -48.2 (Yellow) -119.5 (Red) n/a n/a
Pittsburg Senior High Harbor Street 3,403 -26.3 (Yellow) -111.2 (Yellow) 87.7% (Orange) 39.4% (Green)

Pittsburg High’s English score rose 34.2 points and its math score rose 28.5 points from the prior year (same source). High school test scores come from 11th graders only, so one class can swing them.

PUSD also runs Black Diamond, a continuation high school on Stoneman Avenue with 205 students, and the Pittsburg Adult Education Center.

Which schools serve the Mt. Diablo Unified part of Pittsburg?

Delta View Elementary, then Riverview Middle, then Mt. Diablo High. That’s the path on MDUSD’s School Feeder Pattern page (checked September 24, 2026). 2025 Dashboard results for each (California School Dashboard, checked September 24, 2026):

  • Delta View Elementary, 2916 Rio Verde, Pittsburg: 656 students. English 21.4 points below standard (Yellow), math 41.3 below (Yellow).
  • Riverview Middle, 205 Pacifica Avenue, Bay Point: 682 students. English 88.6 points below standard (Red), math 149.1 below (Red).
  • Mt. Diablo High, 2450 Grant Street, Concord: 1,397 students. Graduation rate 89.4% (Green), 35.4% college or career prepared (Yellow).

Heads up on the drive. That high school is in Concord, not Pittsburg. Map the trip from the house before you count on it.

How does Pittsburg Unified compare with the state?

Below the state on most measures, and it moved up on several of them in 2025. District-wide figures, with the statewide figure after each (California School Dashboard, 2025, checked September 24, 2026):

  • English language arts: 46.4 points below standard (Yellow), up 15.9 points. State: 8.1 below.
  • Math: 98.1 points below standard (Orange), up 8.2 points. State: 42.4 below.
  • Graduation rate: 85.9% (Orange), down 1.8 points. State: 87.8%.
  • College or career prepared: 34.7% (Yellow), up 3.1 points. State: 51.7%.
  • Chronic absenteeism: 28.8% of students (Orange). State: 17.1%.
  • Suspension rate: 3.4% (Green). State: 2.9%.
  • English learner progress: 46.8% making progress (Green). State: 46.4%.

The Dashboard grades each measure with five colors, Red (lowest), Orange, Yellow, Green and Blue (highest). A color blends this year’s number with the change since last year, which is why a low score that jumped can still land on Yellow.

How much should these numbers weigh?

Some. Not everything. One year of test scores won’t tell you about a teacher, a program or how a campus fits one student. Open the school’s full Dashboard report and its School Accountability Report Card, visit, and ask your questions directly. Then put that next to the house, the street and your commute.
