Most Fairfield addresses are in Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District (FSUSD), but parts of the city are in Travis Unified School District instead. The only way to know for one home is to put the exact address into the district’s school locator, then call the district to verify.

That split catches buyers off guard. A Fairfield address on the listing does not tell you the district.

Which school districts serve Fairfield?

Two districts run public schools inside Fairfield. FSUSD serves most of the city. Travis Unified says it serves portions of Vacaville and Fairfield, Travis Air Force Base and parts of unincorporated Solano County, with about 5,400 students (Travis Unified, About Us page, checked September 24, 2026).

FSUSD says it serves 20,600 students in transitional kindergarten through grade 12 at 31 schools, and that 17 of them are California Distinguished Schools (FSUSD home page, district’s own figures, checked September 24, 2026).

The Air Force’s housing page for Travis also lists Vacaville Unified as one of three districts in the local area (housing.af.mil, Travis AFB page, checked September 24, 2026). If the home you like sits near the Vacaville line, check that district too.

How do I look up the district for one address?

Use each district’s own tool, then call. It takes five minutes.

  1. FSUSD: the “Locate Your School” button on the FSUSD Registration page at fsusd.org shows the assigned schools for a street address.
  2. Travis Unified: the School Locator page at travisusd.org does the same for Travis Unified addresses. The district says all of its high school students attend Vanden High and all of its middle school students attend Golden West Middle (Travis Unified, School Locator page, checked September 24, 2026).
  3. Call to verify. FSUSD’s district office is at 2490 Hilborn Road, (707) 399-5000. Travis Unified’s district office is at 2751 De Ronde Drive (district websites, checked September 24, 2026). Boundaries and school assignments can change, and some schools fill up.

A listing, a map website or an agent’s word is not a boundary. The district is. Get the answer before your contingency period ends.

Which public high schools are in Fairfield?

Four comprehensive public high schools have a Fairfield address, all serving grades 9 to 12 (California School Dashboard school profiles, 2025, checked September 24, 2026):

  • Armijo High (FSUSD), 824 Washington Street
  • Fairfield High (FSUSD), 205 East Atlantic Avenue
  • Angelo Rodriguez High (FSUSD), 5000 Red Top Road
  • Vanden High (Travis Unified), 2951 Markeley Lane

FSUSD also runs Sem Yeto Continuation High at 205 East Atlantic Avenue and offers alternative schools of choice such as Public Safety Academy. Which high school an address feeds into is set by the district, so use the locator above.

What do the state numbers say about those high schools?

Here are the official numbers from the 2025 California School Dashboard, which the California Department of Education released on November 13, 2025, using 2024 to 2025 school year data (CDE news release, November 13, 2025).

“Distance from standard” means how many points the school’s average score sits above (+) or below (minus) the “Standard Met” line on the state’s English and math tests. “Prepared” is the share of graduates the state counts as ready on its College/Career measure.

  • Armijo High: English 57.9 below, math 109.2 below, graduation rate 86.3%, Prepared 25.1%.
  • Fairfield High: English 28.5 below, math 136.2 below, graduation rate 88.8%, Prepared 25.5%.
  • Angelo Rodriguez High: English 64.7 above, math 44.1 below, graduation rate 96.9%, Prepared 62.0%.
  • Vanden High: English 34.6 above, math 62.3 below, graduation rate 99.5%, Prepared 54.4%.
  • FSUSD, whole district: English 26.3 below, math 65.0 below, graduation rate 90.2%, Prepared 37.1%, chronic absenteeism 25.5%.
  • Travis Unified, whole district: English 7.1 below, math 41.9 below, graduation rate 98.1%, Prepared 48.8%, chronic absenteeism 13.4%.
  • California, all students: English 8.1 below, math 42.4 below, graduation rate 87.8%, Prepared 51.7%, chronic absenteeism 17.1%.

Source for every number in this list: California School Dashboard, 2025 (2024 to 2025 data), each school’s and district’s report, checked September 24, 2026. Chronic absenteeism is the share of students in kindergarten through grade 8 who missed 10% or more of school days, so it is shown for districts, not high schools.

One year of numbers can swing. Open each school’s Dashboard page at caschooldashboard.org and look at the trend and the student group details before you decide what it means for you.

Where can I see elementary and middle school numbers?

On the same Dashboard. FSUSD alone runs 31 schools, too many to list here. Once the locator gives you the assigned elementary and middle school for an address, search each school’s name at caschooldashboard.org. You’ll see English and math results, chronic absenteeism and suspension rates, all from the state.

What about GreatSchools or Niche ratings?

Those are private websites with their own rating formulas. We don’t repeat their scores as fact. If you use them, read how each builds its rating and compare it with the state’s Dashboard numbers.

Is anything changing at FSUSD?

We found no FSUSD board decision on school closures or attendance boundary changes in the 2025 to 2026 school year. That does not mean nothing is coming. FSUSD posts its governing board agendas and documents on fsusd.org, so check them, or call the district, before you buy.
